What we’re listening to…

Albums we are currently listening to and can’t seem to get enough of…

TV on the Radio “Dear Science”

TV on the Radio amps up the groove and flow on their latest release. Building on “Return to Cookie Mountain’s” lush, atmospheric sonic landscape, TVOTR push the melodies forward and accomplish their most accessible release yet.

Favorite Track: Current single “Golden Age“. TVOTR sound like our generation’s Cool and the Gang. Trust us, this is NOT a bad thang

The Presets “Apocalypso”

Rad Australian duo, The Presets, blast their unique synth-laden, dance funk into the stratosphere with an impressive sophomore release. Julian Hamilton & Kimberley Moyes kick the dance grooves into overdrive showcasing Depeche Mode influences & Morrissey-like ambiguity over Billie Jean beats.

Favorite Track: We’re hooked to the hypnotic power of “Anywhere“, but for the glow stick action, we’re kicking it with party anthem “My People“.

Bloc Party “Intimacy”

Ignore the pretentiously over-thought, horoscope-sounding song titles and revisit the nervous energy that caught everyone’s attention in Bloc Party’s debut “Silent Alarm“. The band sounds re-energized after 2007’s unremarkable “A Weekend in the City“. Yes, they’re still finding out who they are, but its nice to see they’re having fun in the meantime.

Favorite Track: We love the “Sunglasses at Night” feel of “Better than Heaven“.

Chromeo “Fancy Footwork” Deluxe Edition

Chromeo takes everything that was unholy about the 80’s and beats it down into a gorgeous, eclectic tribute to everything that pulls you unto the dance floor. Hopefully, you’ve heard Footwork already. The deluxe version throws in an extra CD chockfull of so much updated disco-boogie fun, you’ll treat it like an LCD Soundsystem CD – there is a favorite song for every day of the week.

Favorite Track: 100%”
