Beck Premieres New Track Online

Beck’s “Chemtrails,” the first track off his upcoming Danger Mouse-produced Modern Guilt, is now streaming from the singer-songwriter’s official website. The track shows Beck going the psychedelic route this time around, and a very exciting departure it is from 2006’s “The Information“.

Modern Guilt still doesn’t have an official release date, but sources say June is [...]

Ok, back to Political blogging…

Although we’d been waiting, until the Democratic race was over so we’d have factually interesting material to cover, this last week and the polemicists in us, gave us some stuff to share with you all.

First off, the Bush Administration’s long-standing ties with Saudi Arabia didn’t do much to move Riyadh to action…

Still Waiting… (Politics Boycott)

Here at The RandT we remain committed to our vow of political silence until the Democratic race is over.

Barack Obama; a significant lead, a lotta money and a new endorsement from John Edwards. Hillary quickly reaching the mathematical impossibility of losing the race, although she is securing a lead in “Most Crazy-Looking Senator [...]

About Sony’s Customer Service

About 2 months ago, our old Sharp TV really started acting up. Sometimes the image would tremble; other times everything would go Black and White. I don’t know how many times I found myself banging on that thing.
We figured we needed to get a new TV pretty quickly. My wife and I are, after all, [...]

We love you, Alec Baldwin.

We wanted to take a moment and express our love for Alec Baldwin. No matter how many brothers you have Alec, we love you. And not for winning over our hearts in “The Hunt For Red October” and “Beetlejuice“.
It’s for your flawless and consistently hysterical performance of controlling, suave network executive Jack Donaghy on NBC’s hit comedy series, “30 [...]

‘Lost’ Explained?

So lets talk ABC’s “Lost” for a minute. After a particularly grueling time last ½ season, its great to see Lost return with a healthy dose of what made the show great in the first place. Highly Imaginative Writing with Substance. Who knows? Maybe the writer’s strike was the best thing that happened to the [...]

Get This Album!!

Rel. Apr. 2008 – “Attack & Release” finds the Keys pushing their trademark bluesy, garage sound one big step forward. And a beautiful thing it is. Along with Gnarls Barkley mastermind Danger Mouse (Gorillaz, Jay-Z) on production duties, the Ohio-based duo have put together arguably one of the best albums you’ll listen to this year.

A Restless Rant on Birthday Duty- Pt.2

Standing amidst this birthday party for a little girl whose name I’ll never memorize, no matter how many times my daughter tells me how awesome she is, I ponder my next move. The Guys crowd.
I purport I am good people. I’m a functional adult with a mortgage. Happy husband and a good Dad. I pay [...]

Is it a Dandy Massacre or A Brian Warhol?

The Dandy Warhols have been a long-time guilty pleasure of mine, after slickly polishing up droney Velvet Underground psychedelia and eventually morphing it into what a Duran Duran grandkids’ band would sound like. Plus, Courtney Taylor is pretty hot for a dude.
So what’s the deal with their new single?  ”The World The People Together (Come On)”
Not [...]

An Awesome Birthday!

So… pretty good day today!! This one really didn’t hurt that much. Had a great day of just hanging out at home with my family and letting myself get distracted with gifts. It helped cushion the big 32!!
So here’s how I did…

Boo to the Number 32

I do not like the number 32.
No…
I do not like it at all.
That’s why I’d like to say Boo to you,
32!
A Boo to 32 is a ball!

Samurai Champloo. Check it Out.

It’s tough to post a blog about Japanese animation and not look like an unemployed dweeb living in a basement apartment in the suburbs somewhere.  While we can assure you that, yes, we are fully functional adults (Rafy owns his own house!), we sometimes take pleasure in an anime or two.  I just finished watching [...]

Microsoft Ends Yahoo Bid

Microsoft walks away from its bid on Yahoo. And why we are happy about it.
After facing the threat of a possible hostile takeover by Microsoft, Yahoo can sigh a breath of relief after the software behemoth withdrew its $44.6 billion offer earlier this weekend, ending a 4-month stalemate that had critics and investors alike paying [...]

Worst Album Covers Ever!!

Wondering what are some of the worst album covers ever? NME is compiling a pretty cool list and letting you vote on them. We had a blast with it and have our favorites here for you. We will continue to add as we scour the Internet for more horrifyingly bad album cover art!!
